Shrewsbury Morris Dancers are celebrating 50 years of dancing in 2026 with a full year of performances and events. We provide an exciting mix of traditional morris and innovative dance styles with strong musical support. Many of our dances have been written and choreographed by members of the team.

Some of our particular favourites are ‘Shrewsbury Flourish’ danced by the Lasses – originally written to teach at workshops at the Sidmouth International Festival, we now know of more than a dozen teams across the country who regularly perform this dance.

Bull and Pump especially enjoy ‘Bricklayers’ – a dance rooted in the industrial heritage of Shrewsbury. It can get a little interesting when the trowels start flying!
